Essence Studios at Riverworks is pleased to offer instruction in a variety of dance disciplines for the Fall 2026 semester! On top of our quality ballet instruction, we are offering classes in multiple levels of Tap, Jazz, and Contemporary, and have added a Beginning Hip Hop! HIP HOP, TAP, JAZZ / CONTEMPORARY,
BEGINNER HIP HOP:
- 7 – 11 years old
- Mondays, 6:00 – 7:00pm
BEGINNER TAP I:
- 6 – 8 years old
- Thursdays, 4:30 – 5:30pm
BEGINNER TAP II:
- 9 – 12 years old *By permission only, OR at least 1 year previous tap experience*
- Thursdays, 5:30 – 6:30pm
BEGINNER JAZZ / CONTEMPORARY:
- 7 – 11 years old
- Strongly recommended for Ballet 4/5 and Ballet 6/7
- Tuesdays, 7:00 – 8:00pm
INTERMEDIATE JAZZ / CONTEMPORARY:
- 12 – 14 years old *By permission only, OR at least 4 years previous dance experience*
- Strongly recommended for Ballet 8B, 8A, and Intermediate Ballet
- Thursdays, 7:30 – 8:30pm
ADVANCED JAZZ / CONTEMPORARY:
- 13+ years old *By permission only, OR at least 4 years previous dance experience*
- Strongly recommended for Intermediate Ballet, required for Adv Ballet B & A

YOUTH BALLET
Please find your class, and read the requirements for upper levels. Note that Ballet levels are related to number of years in training, NOT the age of your dancer. Note that acceptance into the Intermediate and Advanced level ballet classes is by Artistic Director’s permission or audition only. Please contact us to arrange for an audition.
TEEN BALLET 1 & 2:
- 11 years old & up
- No previous experience necessary!
- Mondays, 7:00 – 8:00pm
PRE -BALLET:
- 3 – 4 years old.
- 45 min class
- Saturdays 9:30 – 10:15am
BALLET 1/2:
- 5 – 6 years old.
- 60 min class
- Saturdays, 10:15 – 11:15pm
BALLET 3:
- 7 – 8 years old w/ at least 2 years of ballet
- 60 min class
- Tuesdays, 5:00 – 6:00pm
BALLET 4/5:
- 8 – 9 years old w/ at least 3 years of ballet.
- 2 days a week, 75 min classes
- Mondays and Wednesdays, 4:30 – 5:45pm
BALLET 6/7:
- 9 – 11 years old. *By permission/audition only*
- 3 days a week, 90 min classes
- Tuesdays, 5:30 – 7:00; Wednesdays, 5:45 – 7:15pm; and Thursdays, 6:30 – 8:00pm
BALLET 8B:
- 12 years old & up. *By permission/audition only*
- Includes Ballet technique and Prep for Pointe, 3 days a week
- Mondays, 6:30 – 8:30pm; Wednesdays, 5:30 – 7:00pm; Thursdays, 5:30 – 7:30pm
- Strongly recommended that 8B also take Intermediate Jazz/Contemporary
BALLET 8A:
- 13 years old & up. *By permission/audition only*
- Includes Ballet technique and Pointe 1 (one year en pointe), 4 days a week

INTERMEDIATE BALLET:

- Includes Ballet technique and Pointe 2 (two years en pointe), 5 days a week

ADVANCED BALLET B:
- 14 years old & up. *By permission/audition only*
- Includes Ballet technique, Pointe 3 (3 years en pointe), and Adv Contemporary/Jazz, 5 days a week
- Mondays, 4:00 – 6:30pm; Wednesdays, 4:00 – 5:30pm; Thursdays, 4:00 – 5:30pm; Fridays, 5:30 – 7:00pm; Saturdays 10:00-11:30am

ADVANCED BALLET A:
