Private Lessons
At Essence Studios we have a unique policy on private lessons. Miss Claire is available for private lessons for the serious student, at $75 an hour. However, Essence Studios wants to nurture the talent of blossoming teachers, as well as offer an opportunity for some of the younger students to benefit from private lessons, where one-on-one attention can prove instrumental in the improvement of a student. This policy, established by Founder Fran Ichijo, will continue for the Spring 2023 semester. Teachers must be punctual, dress professionally, teach according to instruction from Miss Claire, and teach the principles of respect and kindness.
All private lessons must be coordinated through Miss Claire, including changes of schedule or teacher, as there are inherent issues with liability and available studio space. A follow-up email or text is requested to ensure the correct change. Miss Claire has the right to change any lesson time or teacher throughout the semester, based on the studio schedule, school policies, or behavior.
Studio Rental
All matriculated Essence students may stretch and practice ballet under adult approved supervision at the studio with prior permission from the Artistic Director. Any teachers are required to pay an hourly rental fee negotiated with Miss Claire for any use of the studios beyond the current schedule. A written contract with the Artistic Director must be signed and paid for in advance due to liability and insurance. Studio A rents for $90 an hour, and Studio B rents for $75 an hour.
