Essence Studios classes are open to all students who wish to train at the studios located in the Poolesville Village Center in Poolesville. Essence does not discriminate on the basis of race, gender, age, color, national origin or sexual orientation.
Applications are accepted with or without dance training, but ballet students not currently enrolled are required to take a preliminary placement class, upon which the correct level will be assessed. Class placement is based upon an assessment of the student’s fine and gross motor skills, the curriculum, the specific ABT level requirements, a student’s natural talent, and their peer levels of social development and age.
REFUND POLICY: In the case of unforeseen student/family issues or schedule changes that result in the student not being able to attend, Essence Studios will reimburse 50% of the student’s initial registration fee up to the morning of the first day of class/camp. No refunds will be issued once that camp or class begins. No refunds or make-up sessions will be available for students that miss individual classes due to illness or events outside of Essence Studios’ control.
There are four steps to registration:
1. Fill Out the Registration Form
Students can register for Summer 2025 camps and classes by filling out the on-line form at the bottom of this page or by printing, filling out and turning in the Essence Studios Summer Registration Form. Hard copies of this form are available at the studio.
2. Fill Out Other Required Forms
In order to be enrolled, Essence Studios must have the below forms filled out and on record for each student. If these forms are already on file from the Spring 2024 semester, there is no need to fill them out again, unless there have been changes to the information. Parents of first time students must provide these forms before classes and camps begin. Hard copies are also available at the studio.
3. Read and Agree to the Studio Policies
The student and a parent/guardian for students under the age of 18, must read the Essence Studios Policies, then sign and hand in the Policies Agreement Form, thereby agreeing to follow the rules and policies of the studio. Hard copies of this form are also available at the studio.
4. Make Payment
Payment must be made before the student’s camp or class begins. Payment is non-transferable and non-refundable. Payment can be made by credit card online by clicking on the class button below or in person at the studio by credit card, check or cash. An additional charge of 2.9% plus $.30, reflected in the prices below, has been added to tuition for any credit card payments.
